Challenge:
a. The carrying surface of friction-driven PVC ply belts delaminates due to exposure to the harsh cashew nut oils. PVC fragments enter the product.
b. The ‘finger splice’ joint breaks frequently due in part to this delamination and in part to its inferior mechanical properties.
c. The above results in difficult and time-consuming maintenance.
